Content and Programming Intern

Essential Functions

This in-person internship is a paid opportunity for a college student or recent graduate studying marketing, communications, or a similar field. This role will work closely with the Communications and Content Manager to brainstorm, plan and produce content for a variety of social media platforms while also partnering with other departments (Education and Programming, Vessel Operations, etc.) to create and that content. The intern will also deliver that content via onboard experiences and programming experiences with guests.

A day at the office may look like filming a TikTok, editing a YouTube video, designing a graphic or flyer, participating in cruise programming, engaging with passegers or writing a social media post. At the end of the internship, the intern will have created a strong portfolio of work to use toward future applications.

This is a full-time, temporary opportunity, between 35 and 40 hours per week, working a flexible schedule around our cruise calendar.


Responsibilities

  • Creates and delivers original and unique social media content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube) and planning those posts in a shared strategic content calendar
  • Onboard program management and execution. This could include program setup and/or hosting
  • Moderate and respond to comments and direct messages across social media platforms, in addition to engaging with content across social media profiles to expand social media presence
  • Assist with the filming and editing of video content for TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram Reels
  • Write long-form blog posts highlighting various aspects of the organizations, including historical information, crew spotlights and more
  • Attend and photograph/capture cruises on social media
  • Monitor and respond to Google reviews in addition to distributing review feedback to crew members on a weekly basis
  • Research historical information and accurately implement that content into trivia stories (for Instagram), blog posts, video content, etc.
  • Design graphics for use in social media stories, video thumbnails, etc.
  • Perform additional marketing, communications and social media tasks as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills

Preferred Requirements and Skills: 

  • Attention to detail, strong writing and editing skills (AP Style)
  • Comfort in actively engaging with people and working closely with a team
  • Research skills and knowledge of best practices in research methods
  • Some evening and weekend availability
  • Knowledgeable on the most up-to-date social media trends
  • Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, Microsoft Office, Google Suite
  • Communications, Marketing, or History majors preferred

Pay & Benefits
