Essential Functions
The Hospitality Supervisor (SEASONAL) helps oversee the Guest Operations department under the Experience and Logistics Manager. They are responsible for all department areas including the Ticket Office/Gift Shop and the onboard bar, concession and souvenir stands; ensuring efficient, consistent and positive experiences for both passengers and employees.
Examples of Work
- Understands and follows all processes needed to perform all subordinate positions in the Guest Operations department including but not limited to Point of Sales systems (FareHarbor, Toast, etc.), Health Department, ticket office, concessions, and bar.
- Cash handling; assigning registers, distributing tips, and reconciling banks at end of shift.
- Ensures assigned staff are performing their duties effectively, providing training, and addressing performance issues as needed.
- Oversees the guest experience by making regular rounds onboard a cruise to gauge guest satisfaction and troubleshoot. Fills out related reports every shift to monitor.
- Addresses and resolves issues to ensure guest satisfaction and if needed, notifies the Experience & Logistics Manager or Mate for further assistance.
- Assists in the coordination of setup for regular cruises, special events, etc. preparing and moving equipment, furniture and supplies.
- Manages Guest Operations inventory, minimizing waste and ensuring proper stock levels.
- Undergoes safety training as a member of the onboard Safety Team alongside Vessel Operations.
- Reports to and assists the Experience & Logistics Manager and helps Mate onboard if assigned.
- Performs related work and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six months of supervisory experience with cash handling in retail, food service or other customer facing/guest focused business.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Strong leadership and communication skills and ability to problem solve.
- Organizational skills and adaptability to ever changing situations.
- Must work a varied schedule (typical weeks are Thursday – Monday) in varied temperatures.
- Able to transit stairs and stand for long periods of time (up to 5 hours during a cruise).
Special Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 20 years of age.
- Must wear safety equipment as mandated by the US Coast Guard and Health Department.
- Pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the US Coast Guard including but not limited to pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing.
Pay Rate
$22/hr
