seasonal bartender
Essential Functions
The Bartender works within the onboard Guest Operations department under the Hospitality Supervisor, Hospitality Lead and Experience & Logistics Manager. These department areas include the onboard bar, concession and souvenir stands; providing efficient, consistent and positive experiences for both passengers and employees. This position receives tips (cash & credit card).
Examples of Work
● Focuses on and delivers exceptional guest service and hospitality to all guests and coworkers.
● Mixes and serves alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks following recipes with garnishes and ensuring quality and presentation. Possibly making recommendations/answering related questions.
● Verifies appropriate customer identification to ensure legal drinking age and monitor level of intoxication. Bartenders are given the autonomy to refuse service for the safety of the guest(s) in question and other passengers.
● Receives and fulfills bar or concession orders utilizing onboard Point of Sales system (potential cash handling) and various appliances/utensils for preparing food/drink items.
● Works closely with Hospitality Workers to deliver excellent guest experiences.
● Stocks, maintains, and replenishes items needed to operate concession, bar and souvenir stands.
● Cleans work areas to the Health Department standard and the Standard Operating Procedures as well as other cleaning projects in other areas as assigned.
● Performs related work and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
● Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills (verbal and written).
● Bartending experience is preferred but other experience may be considered.
● Adaptability in fast paced working environments.
● Availability to work a varied schedule (typical weeks are Thursday – Monday).
● Ability to carry or move items up to 20+ lbs (team lifting heavier items), often up/down stairs.
● Ability to work in hot and cold environments and transit stairs and stand for long periods of time.
Special Requirements
● Must be a minimum of 20 years of age.
● Must wear safety equipment as mandated by the US Coast Guard and Health Department.
● Pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the US Coast Guard including but not limited to pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing.
Pay Rate
- Starting pay beginning at $12/hour (plus tips)
